IWUOnline BSBIS Program Curriculum
The IWU BSBIS Program is a technology degree designed to give you a broad overview of the management, analytical thinking, and programming skills needed for a career as a business information systems specialist or for graduate study. The program consists of 14 core courses and takes 22 months to complete. You should expect to commit about 12 to 18 hours to your studies each week.
Your IT degree prepares you for the practice of lifelong learning, which is mission critical for an information services specialist. Your successful career depends on your commitment to keeping your skills and knowledge current. In addition, this technology degree requires the successful completion of group projects and workshops that highlight your abilities to work within a team, as either a leader or a member.
IWUOnline BSBIS Courses
Your path to an information technology degree begins with an introductory course to the fundamental concepts that comprise managing information systems. How these systems influence different areas of a business, and how you use your business management skills in a practical and ethical manner to best service its needs and those of your coworkers, are its key concepts.
An important advantage of IWUOnline's IT degree program is its four business programming courses. The first two emphasize the Visual Basic language and the second two teach basic Java programming. Your curriculum also includes two intensive Web application development courses.
The IWU faculty who teaches our technology degree programming classes are leading specialists in their field. They have mastered the use of non-specific programming interfaces such as Microsoft's .NET and the "run anywhere" technologies of Java and other Web application technologies.
With these skills imparted by this IT degree program, you are able to choose the best language for a project, an advantage that most potential employers eagerly seek. In addition, with these four courses you gain the foundation for further learning, which is the hallmark of our technology degree program.
One Program, One Tuition, One IT Degree
All too often, professionals with active careers are forced to acquire new skills piecemeal. No matter how hard you work, you are left without a technology degree and without the project portfolio that proves your abilities. A programming language here and a database management class there is a disservice to anyone serious about career advancement. IWU's BSBIS Program gives you both a clear goal for your future and a definitive cost for your path to success.
