IWU BSBIS Program Admission Requirements
IWU's distance learning Bachelor of Science in BIS program requires students meet the same minimum qualifications as those students seeking to enroll in the on-campus BSBIS programs:
- Proof of high school graduation or GED certificate.
- A minimum of 60 semester credit hours earned from a regionally accredited college or university or enrollment in the distance learning Bachelor of Science Bridge Program.*
- A minimum of two years significant fulltime work experience beyond high school.
- Submission of all required items for the admissions process as outlined in the application procedures section of the distance learning Bachelor of Science in BIS website.
- All candidates for the BSBIS degree must have met the prerequisite requirements for math prior to starting the core program.*
*Contact your distance learning Bachelor of Science in BIS program representative for more information about prerequisite requirements.
Requirements for Non-U.S. Students
For those whose first language is NOT English, the minimum TOEFL score is set at 550 (CBT=213 or Internet Score=79).
So that IWU can verify that international students have the appropriate college or university level education, another distance learning Bachelor of Science in BIS program requirement is a "course by course" evaluation of your transcripts done by an organization such as Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE).
THIS EVALUATION IS REQUIRED FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE OBTAINED ANY OF THEIR COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY CREDIT DEGREES FROM INSTITUTIONS LOCATED IN COUNTRIES OTHER THAN THE UNITED STATES.
(Graduates of some universities and colleges in Canada are also exempt from this "evaluation" requirement.) You may learn more about ECE and what it does by visiting their website at http://www.ece.org
